RG Messages - 2003
15 January 2003 - Hello! It's been a while since I checked the message board. I was happy to see a response from Ken. I too remember the sleep over on the top of the hill and having to rush my Mom to a hospital to have her punctured hand looked at, the result of a slip on the fence around the graveyard! Remember "toot-toot"? My best to all and Happy New Year! -Karen Richardson Scogin
4 February 2003 - Thank you for your e-mail about Johnny Azzarelli. I sent a e-mail off to him right away. He will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you and your family are well. LOU AND i TRAVEL ALOT ON BUSS TOURS ENJOYING IT . I leave the driving to someone else now and just sit back and enjoy the scenes. We had a grand 8 day trip through Canada in late September. Now we are pouring over the 2003 bus tours, wish we could go on all of them but I am limited because I have had both hips and one knee replace so walking is sometimes difficult. I do manage with the use of two canes. Best to you Mom Richardson
22 May 2003 - Hi everyone. It has been TOO long since I have left any kind of message. Things here are OK. I have been undergoing some medical tests and hopefully the Doctors will have me back to my usual pain-in-the-butt self soon. I'll keep you posted though. I am still working for the Sheriff's Department, still a Lieutenant (but have passed the Captain's exam) and I have my fingers crossed for a promotion. I am four years away from regular retirement. After wearing a badge for almost 29 years, retirement starts to look pretty attractive. But then again, my youngest is only seven years old and my oldest is 15 so I have to give THAT some consideration too. Mom Richardson is still kicking and raising cain with anyone who crosses her path. (Some things NEVER change... do they?) But, I do pity the poor souls who have to endure her wrath. After, we have ALL been there and done that, haven't we?! Till next time folks, be safe... be happy! Ron Richardson
8 Oct 2003 - Hi Everyone! I wanted to let all of you that I had the pleasure of speaking with Ken Winter on the telephone and he sounds GREAT! I passed his phone number on to Mom Richardson who was very excited to be able to call him. She has often spoken about him, wondering how he was doing and where he ended up at. Now she knows.I also gave the info to my sister, Karen, who was equally excited. It seemed to make her day. Ken is living in Sacramento, California and I think he would be absolutely thrilled to start getting e-mails from all of us who knew him and performed under his directing in concert. As for me... well I am sorta homebound for now. The doctors have me listed as medically unfit for duty, so in effect my 29 year Law Enforcement career has come to an abrupt end. So I am trying my hand at "Mr. Mom" and will see how that works out. I would, although, appreciate your prayers and thoughts. This has been a little tough on my wife and children. I am sure we will come out alright in the end. But at times like these, sometimes the support of family (especially the RG extended family) can make a difference. Not only for me, but for others of us out there who may need the extra boost in moral support. In the meantime, let's not forget to post on this site. We have all come to far to let this slip away into oblivion. let's all get on the stick and make this web site soar!!!
