Revelation Generation

From 1969 to 1977, the Revelation Generation (RG) was a singing group made up of High School students who were children of Military members and DOD civilians serving in the Wiesbaden, Germany area. The group was based and practiced out of the American Chapel in the Hainerberg housing area. Revelation Generation sang mostly 'upbeat' Christian music in four-part harmony and performed at home in Wiesbaden, as well as 'on the road'. RG members also belonged to the chapel's Protestant or Catholic youth choirs. Yearly auditions were held for perspective members to 'try out' for a spot on the risers. Many volunteers helped to make RG a success. Parents and other church members donated their time and efforts by operating sound systems and lighting. Some drove busses and served as chaperones on RG's 'away' performances. Many of the member's mothers provided cookies and punch for the 'after practice/performance munchies'. RG's directors were also volunteers. The members of Revelation Generation learned much about music and live performance; they learned much about themselves; they shared many good times and laughs; they believed in the RG Statement of Purpose, but most importantly, they worked and made friends with others who shared many common bonds.
